Restaurant pet peeve

I’m a person that doesn’t care if a burger place just cooks and serves well done burgers. What drives me crazy though is a place that tries to be fancy and ask you what temperature you want your burger for them to only give you a well done burger. Why are you going to ask me if when I order medium you are just going to bring it out well done?

Agreed. I say medium just so it doesn't come out burnt to a crisp.

Care to name specific places? I can't say I've ever gone through what you've bad. If I get a burger it's usually from a burger restaurant or TJ Ribs and I've yet to have a well done burger around town when asking for medium.

Last time I went to Roux 61 I ordered my burger medium. And the bottom bun was red because they undercooked the thing so bad. I never send food back so I ate it…. But it was way underdone for my liking

Hands down my biggest pet peeve. Nobody wants to stick their hands in their pasta or salad, and even fork and knifing it gets awkward with shrimp in a dish like that.

Counter-order/no server in an inappropriate setting. It's fine for quick-service lunch joints or places that feature take-out.
A BBQ joint or sports bar, however, is the worst offender. It's a place I might have more than one beer. And I'm going to have to get up from my table, wait in line again and pay again.
Hate that shite.

When I go to a nice Chinese restaurant and the cook comes running through the dining room chasing the assistant cook with a meat cleaver. Makes me wonder for the rest of the meal, does He wipe it off after he succeeds in hitting the guy with a big chop.
Also gun shots from the kiddy play area.

Overly chatty servers and bartenders. There's a difference between friendly and annoying.

we like to order to share and try a bunch of different things, some of the best places for that are restaurants like shaya, tavi etc. but…they always say they can’t course it, “it comes out of the kitchen when it’s ready”. So we wind up with a table full of food getting cold

Agreed. I refuse to relent to the server constantly pushing me to order my entree. I might order AFTER I get my app.

I agree. You especially see it with inexperienced servers. I don't even think they're thinking about turning the table or rushing you out. I think they just get anxiety about you thinking they're not giving good service when they're gone too long.
