Anybody else get the urge to see what it's like to take a Jon boat into one of these things when they come along?
They're terrible and I dont want them to hit but when they do I'm fascinated with them. Nature is powerful af.

I have stood on a floater when TS skirted it a couple of years ago and it’s impressive. 60-70kt winds almost blowing you over 17-21ft seas and watching waves just boil and the wind carrying spray off of them. I felt safe but wouldn’t never want to be on a boat in that.

Nah. I got stuck offshore for some BS system a few years ago, and at the last minute they decided to send everyone in on a boat. Worst 10 hours of my life. Crew boat was getting THRASHED in 15 footers. Never again.

I couldn't tell you the number of times this happened to me. I've rode right through the eye of one offshore, rode out tropical storms, you name it. I could have been in the USCG with the experience I have. Now, frick the GOM.

I’m offshore right now. WR29 BigFoot.
107 POB from 210 Sunday. It really isn’t bad out here. 15-20ft seas and about 30 knot winds.
I’m more worried about my truck at the heliport in Galliano with the surge and rain on land

No I have been on Catahoula Lake with 3 - 4 foot waves at the mouth of Little River in a 14 foot 36 inch bottom boat. I’m good thank you.

a boat? Hell naw. But I've often said I'd love to be inside a weatherproof lighthouse type structure and watch one roll onto shore. But I've seen enough movies to know something always goes wrong in that scenario.

Early 2000's TS Alison (I think) EC-261 L/B Kingfish jacked up on a BP platform. Had a 60 foot air gap and the seas were tagging us. Evacuated to platform and spent the night outside under whatever cover we could find.
