Keep 5 Friday the 13th Movies!

Ok, I might have done something like this before, but I don't remember.
Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise; however, I realize that there are a few huge duds and a couple piles of crap within the mix. If you could keep 5, which ones would you keep? Also, list them in order with #1 being your favorite.
1. Part IV: The Final Chapter. This is the one that really hooked me as a kid! I watch it every Friday the 13th.
2. Part VI: Jason Lives! The Tommy Jarvis saga continues. This one is probably the best made of the franchise. Lots of action, great kills, and stupid humor.
3. Friday the 13th! The original doesn't even have my favorite horror villan, and I was too young to see it, but this movie is great! Mrs. Vorhees was a ruthless bitch, and I loved it!
4. Part VII: The New Blood! Epic battle of wills. Just great fun.
5. Part III: This was my introduction to the series. I watched this one first on cable in the mid 80s. The barn scenes with the bikers were bad arse to an 8 year old kid. When he put on that hockey mask, I was freaking terrified and somehow mesmerized.
Honorable mention for worst: Part V! F*ck that movie!

I’m not sure I’ve seen five of them honestly. They’re pretty fun though.

I'm definitely keeping 3, 4, and 6. I guess I gotta keep 1 too. The last one is debatable. But 5 and Jason Goes to Hell are clearly out. I liked Jason X more than those

2009 Remake
Part VI
Part IV
Jason X
The Original
The remake gets a lot of weird hate, it isn’t the best horror movie but it does have some of the best kills in the series as well as one of the most threatening Jasons as well.

That’s easy.
1. Jason Lives
2. Jason takes Manhattan
3. Jason X
4. Freddy vs. Jason
5. Jason: The final Chapter

I didn't care for the remake. Doesn't have the right feel for me. Doesn't fit in, imo.
Jason X is my 2nd most hated Friday!

Jason Takes Manhatten has grown on me over the years. I still wouldn't place it in my top 5-7, but it's not as bad or dumb as I originally thought it was. Great kill scenes!!!!
....but the whole idea that he ends up in NYC is still dumb to me.

It certainly wasn’t as campy as the others that’s for sure although I do love X for its stupid campiness
I guess I just like it for having a more grounded Jason and not one that’s an unlikeable zombie that can teleport

I like the originals…
1. IV the first one I saw
2. III the hockey mask
3. II first time we get Jason as a killer
4. I it’s a classic
5. VI brought the franchise back and get mega Jason killing machine.

Jason in Space is a one of a kind film, following the same tone as Jason Lives. He’s an unkillable killing machine even 400 years in the future!

You’re not wrong, but can you beat the scene where he punches that dude’s head off with one swing and the head flying off the building, landing in a dumpster as the lid slams shut? Naw, you can’t. It should be called Jason on a cruise and excursion in NYC, lol

V is so bad. But has the legendary Debi Sue Vorhees nude scene. Still, I'd have to pick

1. Part IV The Final Chapter - pretty much the perfect Friday the 13th movie with all memorable characters like Crispin Glover, Corey Feldman, the hot twins and even the banana girl
2. Part II - such an upgrade over the original. Best final girl of the series Ginny. Darkest entry of the franchise. Wheelchair kill is top tier.
3. Part 6: Jason Lives - the MTV Jason movie. Self aware of what it is and decides frick it let’s have fun. Zombie Jason killing Arnold Whorshack…nuff said.
4. Part 5: A New Beggining - the sleaziest movie of the franchise but the most fun. Just trash character after character getting killed by Roy… I mean Jason. Crazy Ethel and Junior, Demon shitting out those damn enchiladas. Titties galore. Fun stuff.
5. 3-D: Tge scariest Jason of the franchise played by Richard Brooker. Fun movie!

Oh, no! That scene is incredible!
They also could have called it "The Hate Boat." The music would have written itself!

I know I will be in the minority here but
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
In their original order. I love these movies. Don’t care for the others at all.

I have a hard time picking 5 of them as Jason Goes to Hell is really the only one I don't care for since it feels as if it was a different movie w/a slapped on coat of Jason paint in an effort to keep the rights to the character.
If pressed... I guess I'd keep 2,3,4,6,7
If you were asking me which one I'd want to watch the order would probably go...
Final Chapter (4)
Jason Lives (6)
Part III
The New Blood (7)
Part 2
A New Beginning (5)
Friday the 13th (original)
Jason Take Manhattan (8)
Jason X
Freddy vs Jason
Friday the 13th (remake)
Jason Goes to Hell

Just watched part 3 again and it’s pretty damn gnarly! Lots of fun with that one particularly the goofy 3D antics playing for the camera. Loved the harpoon gun through the eye shot. Super awesome!

I get what you're saying but they do have summer camps nearby and the original movie was filmed about 60 miles outside of NYC in central New Jersey so it's not that crazy. Kevin Bacon filmed his scenes during his off days for his waiter job in Manhattan and most of the actors were struggling off Broadway types.
