My four year old is a huge transformers fan so I took him to the first showing of transformers one last night. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the show myself.
One of the best, visual, animated movies I have seen and a really good story.

So it was more than meets the eye?

It does look very good visually.
There are some new styles of animation in movies.. They look good.
This is one that looks different than most I've seen. Not that same style as say like Pixar, which I do like too.
But these newer ones offer a nice change in visuals.

It's getting good reviews from both sides.

Friend,
As I am walking into my 87th movie at the theater this year, according to my AMC account, I have Transformers One as the current front runner for TulaneLSU’s 2024 movie of the year award. If things hold, that will make it two years in a row for a movie based on a toy to win the award, something I thought never possible.
I have seen the Transformers movie three times now and each time it is better than the previous. It is a remarkable movie, rich in meaning and simply wonderfully told. People who complain that Hollywood doesn’t make great movies anymore are absolutely wrong. Even in this relatively weak year so far, Transformers reminds us of that which good storytelling is capable.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

No Peter Cullen, no care.
I get it that at some point you must move on from the OG actors, but so long as they're still able to perform in iconic roles, I say use them while we have them.

Bunch of trans (robot) propaganda disguised as kids entertainment.

Is this the one where they transform in to 18 wheelers and speak English on another planet millions of years ago?

Just got out of it.
Keegan Michael Key is such a good voice actor
Great movie.
I agree. Legit 9/10

Just got done with it, it was really amazing, as someone who grew up in 80's and 90's this was a awesome throw back to Gen one, 10/10 , would see again easily...

Maybe it all started on Cybertron? It’s not that serious.

Just sat down and about to start with my 3 boys
Edit: What a ride. Definitely a 9/10. I don’t think they could have done this story any better. My boys are 8, 13 and 15. All enjoyed it and they’ve watched the original series.
I was originally concerned that Peter Cullen wasn’t involved at all, even if he was only voicing OP near the end. Chris Hemsworth did great even when he became Prime.
Spoilers….
The energon axe…. Finally!

Brought our 6 year old last night, was a great movie.

I was surprised how good the story was, it wasn’t all just mindless action and animation, I really liked it.
My 5yr old was absolutely losing his mind with excitement for most of the movie. I swear when they got their orbs and became legit transformers he had a religious experience

Just saw it with my son based on this thread. It delivered. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was about as good as Spiderverse.

Saw it today with my 2 kids as well. Extremely pleased with the story and action. I had been worried they'd ruin it like most things these days, but this one is a solid 9.5/10.

Took my 8 and 9 year old Saturday after the game and all three of us loved it. B's alternate name drew a laugh from them every time he said it. Story was great, voice acting was great, and action was fun.
My only critique, somewhat spoiler:
D-16's (Megatron) quick descent into darkness. I don't want to complain about a 104 min movie but he went from good buddy to murderous psycopath real quick. I'm wondering if the tumble down the mountain trying to transform knocked a CPU loose somewhere.

you're such a self loathing, narcissistic, ego maniac.
you have zero original ideas to write about. you just piggy back off others, and then talk down to people in your writing style.
go away.
your threads barely make it past 2 pages anyways, and thats bc its filled with your dribble about mother and pictures.
87th movie this year.... jesus, stfu.
