Does a kid need a youth license to hunt?

In LA... is youth license at thing? I was under the impression you didn't need a license until you were 18.

No idea about LA but in MS it’s 16.

They don’t need a lic if under 18 but they need tags for deer and Turkey. U can get the tags with a SS#

They actually do need a license to deer and turkey hunt under 17. Changed a year or so ago. It’s a $5 license.

Appears that is correct. 17 and under, $5 and includes tags. All my kids have their lifetime so I haven't need to check but I was curious and it has changed.

Where do you find this license online? I am logged into my account and don't see any otpion to purchase a youth license.

The reason for the $5 charge for tags is that Louisiana joined a federal deer study program that pays them $40 for every tag sold. I know paying any extra money sucks but it’s $5.
