My son wants to go on a squirrel hunt.
He is now a senior in High school and never been on a squirrel hunt.
We have been on Alligator, Bison, Axis and whitetail hunts but never the little creatures. Always seemed like if your going to hunt load up on the meat.
Out of the blue he asked for squirrels.
I looked through the internet and didn’t find much. Does anyone know of private land hunts or know someone who would charge for a half day hunt.
Appreciate any feedback

Almost any public land will have some bottom land somewhere. Just go out and sit still on a calm morning. Nothing makes you a better woodsman than squirrel hunting. You learn al kinds of stuff

What I've learned is when squirrel hunting there's deer everywhere but no squirrels, and when deer hunting there's squirrel everywhere and no deer.

I’ve never heard of a guided squirrel hunt. Just go wherever you normally hunt.

You’re making this way too complicated. Go on some public land, anywhere with trees, preferably hardwoods. I could find squirrels in Louisiana back when deer were mythical creatures where you could only find tracks but never saw one. Now that there are deer and more hunters are bow hunting, those squirrels should be everywhere.

UL campus would be like shooting fish in a barrel

They were killing a few at Sherburne on opening weekend.
