Looking for recommendations on a rear engine mower

I have .88 acres and need a rear engine rider for the tight spots around trees and to be able to get through my gate.
Anyone recommend a particular brand?
Which ones to stay away from?

Snapper is the best but I went with Craftsman and has been good . Had it three years only replaced wheels.
They don’t turn great but fit through my small gate.
Had a John Deere before ,
Rear often don’t mow in reverse at least on my craftsman. Have to disengage blade and put in reverse so is something to look into. Snapper has more choices but more money also. They last a long time on either.

You looking for a zero or a lawn tractor? Do you want to just mow or did you wanna do anything else with the mower. Does the .88 have large slopes or is it flat. How big is your gate.

4' gate....i just need to mow.
Really dont have enough yard to justify a zero turn. Really would like a 30" rear engine

I get 7-8 years on a 33 inch snapper in a grand isle type salt environment. Drive clutch replacement takes about 9 minutes. Had to put a shut off valve in the gas supply, as tank located above carb tended to drain into crank case. Other than that works well, tight turning radius.

If you’re set on a RER I’d go with an older snapper. Put a fuel cut off on the gas line, as mentioned. Hard to beat and easy to repair.

I think Scag offers a 32” deck on a stand up zero turn. I see a lot of commercial cuts using these when they have tight places.
