This film is so nostalgic and beautiful. Acting…6/10. Ridley Scott did an amazing job at telling the story of good vs evil, utilizing Christian theme while never pointing to it.

VERY underrated

ALL the creatures were scary. The troll or whatever he was is scary as shite. The one with the unicorn horn by the fire.

The creature from under water that Tom Cruise decapitates scary as shite.

Curry as the Devil/Evil or whatever he was is scary as shite. He looked awesome.

It is underrated. It’s one of those that gets lost for some reason.

I remember it not doing well at the box office or something. I watched it on HBO as a kid and curry's devil/evil was awesome

Fun fact: the unicorn scenes from Blade Runner director cuts were actually just cut scenes added by Ridley Scott from unused Legend footage.

In saying that, Legend is kind of early Tom Cruise's forgotten big budget film. It's also really hard to watch because it's so evil/scary/dark, but 1980s Ridley Scott art direction is just on another level. His sets and lighting were works of art.

I liked it, and occasionally rewatch it

I think you hit on the actual issue... "art".

It's a bit TOO artsy, like an extremely vivid fairy tale, there's no connection at all to reality. If they could have squeezed just a bit into it (maybe put the girl's cottage in a village), some sort of context, I think it would have been huge.

But for what it is, a fairy tale, it's great.

Great film! Still holds up really well and Mia Sara was a stone cold fox.

This is surprising to me, as this is easily my least favorite TC movie.

Absolutely love this movie. My parents took me to see it in the theater. Meg Mucklebones scared the shite out of me

It's amazing and doesn't get enough credit.

Love the Jon Anderson soundtrack too. Perfection.

I thought they did the soundtrack with some music from Anderson for the US release.

Europe had a completely different score from Jerry Goldsmith which I thought sucked.

The only reason I liked the movie was the score / atmosphere. I think I left the theater and went to sound warehouse to get the album.

This, including the closing credits.

I've never seen the other version.

It's got a lot working against it.

It's kind of a mess of a movie, generally.

It is also one of those movies that looks bad because it is supposed to be set in the woods but clearly is in a sound stage/back lot. They had to use lots of lighting to make it seem real and kind of defaulted to darkness to hide it.

It's not bad or anything, but there's a reason it "gets lost"

The Brian Ferry song at the end is what had me racing to get the album because the second I heard the guitar I was like dude, that's David Gilmour.

One of my favorite movies as a kid, and I still picture Darkness as the iconic demon/devil "look", probably why I always liked the look of the old school MTG card Juzam Djiin.

Also, I had no idea Robert Picardo (hologram doctor on Star Trek Voyager among other roles) was the bog hag or whatever Meg Mucklebones.
