If tweet fails to load, click here. Nowell cut? We don’t have any open spots

Maybe an injury exception?

Nowell was waived per Shams article

Westbank representative.

I think his 10 days were up. Otherwise pels would have to sign him to the roster and it would affect the tax. Honestly feel we should have got Payton from the beginning. More of a vet, better passer and defender plus was in camp with us.

10 day contracts don’t get signed until after January 5th. Nowell was on a non guaranteed deal

Yawn…. That moves the needle

Nowell was signed off the street and averaged 21 minutes for us. To put that into context, that’s about how many minutes guys like Tari Eason, Isaiah Joe, Caruso, Naji Marshall, and Derek Lively play. It’s only a couple less than Kuminga, Hield, and Podziemski. That doesn’t even consider that he’s sharing the floor with other non-rotation players.
Imagine replacing Nowell’s minutes with any of those guys. Really just shows how bad the injury situation truly is and the extent of the drop-off in play.

Yeah but I believe it was sort of used as a ten day deal. I could bring up the tweet but someone tweeted that they were treating Nowell as such. I think there were deadlines put in place to the nonguaranteed deal.

Typical Pels, a day late and a dollar short.

With Trey back and CJ almost back, Elfrid's ability to get to the rim is more valuable than Nowell's shooting.
Y'all are making this too hard.

Maybe. But Nowell was not some great shooter. Technically I would have brought Elfrid back before bringing in Nowell. Elfrid can help this team in so many ways offensively. We saw it in the preseason. They missed on the whole Nowell thing.

Elfrid is more of a distributor as well. We need passing help badly.

No reason to sign Nowell save for stringing 10 day contracts. Obvious that Pels needed floor organization more than a shoot anything first guard.
…. and heck, Payton was in camp.

Yup. Found it odd they didn’t just go to him immediately over Nowell. But at this point who really cares.

Not "Thanks for the opportunity," huh?
Nowell doesn't sound like a good locker-room guy.

Honestly didn’t seem like a team first guy on the court either. Dude was just consistently looking for his own shot. I guess they can’t all be Brandon Boston.

Was saying they should do this two weeks ago. Payton perfect back up PG for this team. Can handle on ball pressure without panicking, sets his guys up and has good size to defend. He can't shoot very well and is a bad from the line, but those are limitations you can live with in a back up, especially when you get more scoring back on the floor...
