Liberals were quick to advocate for the taking down of statues and the renaming of schools, streets and military bases of people who were involved in what they considered, “ immoral behaviors.” Should we expect them to embrace the same zeal when it involves one of their beloved figures?

MLK laughed as woman was raped. Business Insider

quote:

The group met in his room and discussed which women among the parishioners would be suitable for natural or unnatural sex acts. When one of the women protested that she did not approve of this, the Baptist minister immediately and forcibly raped her. The author of the memo is unclear, but the handwritten notes in the margin, which Garrow attributes to Sullivan, add more detail, as though the document had been edited to include more specific charges. "King looked on and laughed and offered advise [sic]," the notes read. Over the next two nights, the memo says, King and his entourage engaged in orgies. [A]t least 12 individuals—nearly equally divided between men and women and including King, officers of the [Southern Christian Leadership Conference], and others bearing the title of "Reverend"—participated in a sex orgy…. Excessive consumption of alcohol and the use of the vilest language imaginable served only as a backdrop to acts of degeneracy and depravity, many of which were committed in a communal atmosphere with the onlookers as "entertained" as the participants. Many of those present engaged in sexual acts, natural as well as unnatural. King more than once boasted of his drunken condition as he took a leading role in the debauchery.

I was told we have to remove these effigies of the past that represent behavior that is unacceptable in modern times.

If what is being revealed about MLK is factually true the answer is a resounding no.

I don't see how a nation that is trying to restore itself as a just and righteous nation in the eyes of God, its citizens and the world could tolerate the honoring and near worship of a man who was every bit the criminal rather than a honorable and resepected man of the cloth.

Yes.
But I'd be very careful assuming truth in some of these accounts. If King or his circle had actually done some of the things reported, Hoover would have seen to it he was behind bars faster than you could say "J Edgar was a gay psycho."

The rape part of the story has long been rumored.

The removal of statues and renaming of schools wasn't about morality. It was about power

AOC said she wouldn’t go to Trump’s inauguration because she “doesn’t celebrate rapists.” When can we expect her to introduce legislation to repeal the MLK holiday?

Do you assume these are the only sources of MLK’s reprobate behaviors?

Didn’t Sonny Hostin say she celebrated MLK day instead of Inauguration Day last Monday because she thinks Trump is a rapist?

Sadly, as a society, we put immoral politicians, celebrities and sports stars on a pedestal.

Oh ok now we believe allegations to be factual Got it, bc yall maga told me all of the Trump allegations were left propaganda But with MLK the criteria of evidence is more flexible

Allegations don’t equal truth, but it’s also irresponsible to ignore allegations from multiple sources that appear to be consistent and credible.

I don’t.

It may be true.

Then again, 51 “sources” claimed Hunter’s laptop was likely Russian misinformation.

Sadly, “sources” are proof, as sources have been proven to lie.

Until proof is presented, I will reserve judgement.

Yes it's time to end MLK Day and take down all his statues. Black people seem to prefer Juneteenth anyway.
