Couldn't happen to a bigger douche. I used to love listening to Henley. He is really just a nasty piece of work.

Henley doesn’t really seem like any more of a douche than plenty of others in the biz…
Is it his politics? That would be the typical reason around here.

One of my uncles spent his career in Nashville as a session musician and went on the road with a few country artists (Jerry Reed, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood, and the Oak Ridge Boys).
He had been an Eagles fan and a fan of Henley's solo stuff. He told me once about an encounter he had with Henley backstage at some event in the mid-80s. He'd heard Henley was going to be there and waited for his big opportunity to talk to him.
When he saw his chance, he introduced himself, told Henley how much he admired him, and extended his hand. He said Henley didn't so much look at him as he looked through him, then turned and walked away without saying a word.

And, by some accounts, Frey was worse.

Frey had a physical altercation with every member of the Eagles.

The thing that makes Henley such a douche is that he wrote the lyric complaining about seeing Deadhead stickers on Cadillacs and now he copyright blocks anyone that puts up five seconds of an Eagles song on the internet.

The guy was found at his home with a stoned, nude, 15-year-old hooker.

Dude, who was your Uncle. That’s awesome! And yes, I’ve heard from folks that Henley is a straight dick.

Well it shouldn't be a shock considering he also stole the melody from Don Felder.
Don Felder's contributions
- Felder came up with the song's chord progression while strumming a 12-string guitar at his Malibu beach house in 1976.
- He recorded a demo of the song, and then made up parts for himself and Walsh to play.
- Felder's signature "Hotel California" Gibson models include a Doubleneck and a 1959 Les Paul.

I flew into LAX not long ago and saw a kid holding a sign by Delta baggage claim that said “Don Henley”. I LOL’d thinking how mad he’d be that this runner had no clue who he is.
