New Jersey Medical Form - Is Your Newborn Straight or Gay? Male/Female/Trans?

So assigning gender by genitals at birth is bad, but, using a parents whim is all good?. K, got it.

When my Son was born in October 2020 in Berkeley, they gave me these type of papers to fill out. More than once.
I remember one document had a list of probably 1000 different races. I checked him off for like 50 of them. Had him identifying as like 15 different genders.
My wife wanted me to fill them out normal but frick those looney tunes

My birth certificate doesn't have a blank for gender.
Neither do my passport or driver's license.

The law mandates that demographic information be collected by health care providers. This is very obviously an unintended consequence of not making the language of your law specific enough.
I would bet the lawmaker who's mad about this voted to pass it in the first place, because lawmakers are often idiots, and demographic data is important to conservative lawmakers that want to prove that it's the poor and minorities overindexing in the Healthcare system. It can hard to foresee every outcome from a piece of legislation. This one probably should have been caught.
