This "cookbook" is seriously one of my favorite books in the kitchen. The Flavor Bible doesn't have a single recipe in it. Instead, it alphabetically lists ingredients and provides ingredient pairings to go with each.

For example, you look up sumac and it would give you a dozen things which go well with sumac, highlighting the best pairings. You can choose a particular protein and go down a rabbit hole of pairings to create an entire meal. Additionally, there are comments from prominent chefs throughout the book explaining how they use some of these pairings in their restaurants.

It's such a fun book. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking to get a bit more creative in the kitchen. Last week I made some grilled cheese......pumpernickel bread with a nice sharp cheddar, slim slices of green apple, pecan pieces and dusted with a thyme and fennel spice. My family was like wtf are you doing? It actually turned out to be really delicious...they all enjoyed it.

I purchased it after a friend recommended. I tried to read it and got overwhelmed by the amount of options. I need to get back to it.

I just ordered it also. Hard to believe it's been around since 2008 and I've never heard of it not that I know about every cookbook out there.
