The most expensive back up in the history of the NFL !!!
One thing this year will bring is excitement with growing pains!
Please get another experienced guard and a receiver with size .

Who will be the backup in Cleveland? Kenny Picket is expected to be the starter.
Who is going to be the backup in Atlanta? Michael Penix is expected t be the starter.
2025 Salary ranking for QB
12 Deshaun Watson CLE, QB - $46,000,000
13 Kirk Cousins ATL, QB - $45,000,000
16 Derek Carr NO, QB - $37,500,000
So, not only not the most expensive backup in NFL history, but not even the top 2 most expensive backups this season.
Still too much though.

That’s right, Carr wasn’t anywhere near as bad of a signing as Kirk Cousins. At least we aren’t the Falcons.

Cousins coming off a major injury at his age, was a crazy contract.

Lol check again. Thats his average annual salary over 4 years. Well the first two years are dead and gone and we only paid him $20 million. Still owe him at least $90 million

I bet Carr still starts over Shough if he’s healthy

You’ve been told I don’t know how many times, Carr was never going to see the 4th year. I don’t know why you fail to grasp that. It was always a three year 100 million deal.

Just cut this douche and move on with Shough

There’s a few posters here that I don’t even bother with and everyone knows I live to argue

It’s 100 million guaranteed not 3year 100 million. If he only plays 3 years then it’s closer to $110million.
We’ve only paid him $20M. $90M left to pay. That’s average of $45 million over the next two years. Look it up

This part is incorrect. They will have paid him $100M by the end of the year. The issue is the total cap hit over those 3 years is only just over $40M. Which is why the dead cap will be $60M when cut after the season

That’s the average cap hit for the next 2 years

Yea I'm talking about the cap hit. Thats all that matter. Don't care whats in his bank account.
$7M cap hit in 23'
$12M in 24'
$20M in 25'
$70M in 26'

The csp hit doesn’t mean shite. You keep spouting off how much we paying him. We are paying him exactly what I said 100 million over 3 years.
Blame Loomis for his fricked up accounting practices, not Carr. What we are paying Carr is not going to change. You keep adding on a 4th year and spouting off these huge numbers when it’s incorrect.
Carr has zero to do with how the numbers are broken down. He will get 100 million for three years of ‘work’ with us anyway you slice it up. That number is not going to change.

Are you new to watching professional football? Only guaranteed money is what counts in the nfl. Agents add on years and big numbers that are absolutely meaningless. They been doing it for years.
Carr was never getting 50 million for that 4th year. It was just fluff.

I think the Browns signing Watson is the #1 worst deal.
