Anyone tried it and if you did how long did you maintain a sharp blade/s?
I go through 5-10 sets of Mr Twister blades annually, some last but some just dull really fast.

So, are you talking about a regular fillet knife or an electric knife?

I use a spyder co triangle sharpener on my electric knives and all serrated blades. The sticks are triangles and designed for serrated knives (spyderco). Three passes on the serrated side one pass on the none serrated until sharp.

Use these with my rapala for trout (still have my 20yr old Mr twister though!). I don't bother and just replace them as needed.

If it's one of those replaceable razor knives just run it on a strop a few times. Don't try to sharpen it. It's sharp, but it's not hard so the edge bends over and it dulls. Straighten that edge out. It'll be sharp.

Don't own a filet knife but do have a Victorinox boning knife. I have a Ken Onion WorkSharp with the 1x18" belt kit on it. I sharpened it up to 5000 grit when I first got it, stropped it on a green compound charged leather belt, and just needed to strop it a few times since. Hair-popping sharp and doesn't really get dull as long as I'm careful with the edge and hitting bones.

Call the manufacturer and see if they offer a sharpening service.

I use this to sharpen my serrated Dexter Russel knives. It does take a little time but works great. The blades are single beveled so only sharpen on that side.
