Saw an Osprey at the pond today.

Didn’t get a shot of him actually grabbing the crappie but he flew into a tree pretty close by. Really cool birds.

Those are great pictures

I see them daily going across Mobile Bay. Their numbers seem to be improving dramatically, at least around here

I guess they would have to be close to the surface to see but an Osprey can dive about 4’ down. This was in an irrigation lake.

I have found crappie in the fairways of a local golf course. I am guessing Ospreys sometimes drop fish.

We saw an osprey drop a ~2lb bass on the Lake Bruin golf course earlier this year. It wanted to dive down and retrieving but I guess we humans had it scared. It circled a couple times then flew off pissed.
