Old Front Nine 1 & 2 are credit card parking now

Saw this brought up in another post. I tried to adjust my tailgate guide but the post is locked. The only update to the old parking map from May to August 26 is the Old Front Nine 1 & 2 lots having that $ sticker showing those specific lots requiring credit card payment.

Boo, that's where I normally park when I travel to BR. I suppose it'll be Golf Course now.

Aside from forcing people to purchase a parking pass, LSU needs to find a way to allocate free or significantly reduced parking for ticket holders and force those ding-dongs who just come out to tailgate (aka loitering) without a ticket to the game to park in BFE. If you just come out to tailgate with no intention of attending the game then you are not contributing anything positive to the event. You're not spending money to attend the game. You're not spending money inside the stadium (concessions). You (likely) aren't spending money to park. All you're doing in adding to the congestion and taking away the limited available parking from the people who are ACTUALLY going to the game.

LSU needs parking garages instead of removing parking to build more dorms

You should see the prices for other parking lots on campus

Used to tailgate on northside of campus near the old Kirby Smith. Had a group of 30 that showed up every week. Showed up one game and our tree was cut down and a construction zone setup to build a new dorm. We moved.
Setup near Alaska St next for a few years...Free parking was limited and became a chore to find consistent parking on gamedays. LSU stopped putting Port-a-john's near us, then cut down a couple trees we setup under so we moved again.
Spent the last 3 years tailgating on the South Side at the Old Front 9. Nice. Shady. Room for the kids to run around. We liked it. I imagine it is going to be a headache getting in to the Old Front 9 to park now with the limited entrance points and having to pay to enter one at a time. I can see the traffic backing up down Burbank in my mind now.
I'm not going to be finding a new spot after this new change and hopefully someone else will take over setting up every week to tailgate. Tired of moving and fighting to grab a spot every year and I'm not paying to park. I'll take the 50 bucks (100 with a trailer) and go drink at Chimes. Kind of sad as the on campus game day experience is slowly being slowly stripped away for a lot of us.
TLDR - Made a lot of good friends hanging out under oak trees on campus. Guess I'm headed to the bar now.

Exactly this. It sucks to have to keep relocating every few years.

What happens if you put your tent out there on Friday?

24 yr run tailgating , this is my sign it's time to shut it down. Started on Nicholson sidewalk, they made us move. Old front 9 was I nice place but tailgating really has died since the Nicholson shutdown. Not paying $100 (trailer) for this anymore. Geaux tigers

Man I remember when the Nicholson sidewalk was a city of tailgates. Now it’s almost nothing. Sad.
