As much as I hate Liverpool, yeah that's silly.

Edit: Weakest winner since Michael Owen

I don’t think Dembele winning is controversial

Salah finishing 4th seems insane though. Yamal finishing 2nd over him is pretty funny. Think I saw Mo had more G/A in December than Yamal had the entire La Liga season

European bias is real, but Dembele won a quadruple, with PSG finally breaking through in the CL

In a non-competitive league they won by 19 points. Lol.

Important question: are we going to have to listen to Lamal’s dad cry about his son losing this award every year until he wins one in five or six years? Dude seems like such a bitch.

It's pretty insane. He's amazing for his age but he's not THAT good, yet.

Just Barca bullshite. They get every advantage (including illegal help from the Spanish government and La Liga) to stay afloat.

Yamal wasn't even the best or 2nd best player from Barca last year.

Ever since 2010 when Milito didn't win it after carrying Inter to a treble and champions league, is when I realized it was just a glorified beauty contest.

Milito was the top goalscorer in Serie A, scored the decisive goal in the final league match to secure the title. He also scored the single goal in the Coppa Italia final. He scored in every knockout stage of the Champions League, including two goals in the final against Bayern Munich.
His performance led Inter to the Treble: the Serie A title, Coppa Italia, and UEFA Champions League.

Hell 2013 Ribery who was unstoppable and carried his team winning the champions league, I get Ronaldo scored 61 goals across all comps, but Ribery was the best player on the planet that year.

I could also spend all day bitching about Messi winning it in 2022 over Haaland, and I hate city

Go back to when Nedved won it over Henry. Talk about a screw job.

It was a joke when they didn't give it to Lewandowski that year

Dembele is a pretty weak winner, however, it's crazy the amount of press that Lamal NOT winning is getting. He wasn't BDO level last year.

Same last year when Vini Jr didn't win it, its the Real Madrid/Barcelona effect. They automatically think that the best player on those teams should get the reward and cry corruption when it doesn't happen. I do think Yamal was arguably better than Dembele for large parts of the year, but you can't argue with being that good and winning the CL.

I’m as big a City fan as they come, but for the last five years or so, if I had to pick a team to win ONE game, my first pick would be Mo Salah. I wouldn’t think twice about it.

I didn't know Salah finished 4th. I'm ok with Dembele winning it after a quadruple but Salah shouldn't have finished anywhere below a close 2nd.
