Love watching this every year around Halloween. Definitely has a spooky vibe to it so the wife and I (who is from Acadiana) put it on our October playlist.
Always some small thing that pops up every time you watch it and it is still great. My dad wanted to watch it with me so we actually watched it twice and it’s amazing I can watch the same episode a day apart and still be locked in the whole time. Not many shows can do that for you.
One nitpick I have is how at the end you hear a news broadcast saying that they discredited rumors about the Childresses and the Tuttles being related. Wouldn’t a simple DNA test disprove that? I get the Tuttles wouldn’t willingly give that up but seems like a pretty flimsy thing to hang your hat on. Hell, I’m surprised that Cohle didn’t steal some DNA from the tuttles and include it in the packets they sent out across the country.

Most would not question the lies coming from a newscaster’s mouth. Cohle knew the truth and that was enough. He is a cop and cops don’t take crusades to prove media wrong.

I watch at least once a year. If I can't figure out what I want to watch I can pop it on.
Same for Fargo season 1.

That's only a partial quote but that is one of the best line/scenes ever written. Showing the back story of Rust and Marty when they first come up over the hill and see Ledoux in his underwear and mask on. Haunting score playing in the background and Rust telling the "then like a lot of dreams, it had a monster at the end."
Man, so freaking good. I'm like you, I can watch it every year. It's hard to choose but probably my favorite single season of TV ever, top three minimum.

One nitpick I have is when they are talking to the crabber taking crabs out his trap, and all the crabs are dead.
