A team devoid of talent had the chance to trade one round higher for a true number one receiver and actually add much needed talent to this team.
Instead Loomis trades a high 4th for the Broncos 5th receiver that was on the roster bubble.
Pickens is currently the leagues #2 receiver and has been catching contested passes all season. He’s one of the best in the league at it. Another example of why we not going anywhere anytime soon.
And before someone says some stupid 20/20 hindsight bs. I pointed this exact same scenario out before the season started in the Vele thread….

I think its far more likely you get Pittsburgh Pickens than Cowboys Pickens over here.
Pickens is one of those guys will throw a fit if the situation is not working for him.
Its not to say I havent been impressed. But we wouldn't be able to get him the ball like he has been in Dallas.

Pickens has a bad attitude that can be covered for with strong leadership and winning. We're doing neither. He'd just be complaining he wasn't getting hid 8-10 balls a game.

I would be to. I’d franchise him instead of extending him, for at least one more year to make sure it wasn’t a fluke.

Pickens is a negative in the locker room known to have blow ups in the past and a me first attitude. There’s a reason Dallas got such a good deal for him. Damn good player though

He would've come here and not gotten the ball like he has in Dallas and thrown an absolute fit in his contract yr.
Rattler wasn't getting him the ball like dak. Obviously he is a great player but it wouldn't have worked out here. Better trade than vele but....
