Im taking my GF out tonight and we both really enjoy fish entrees. Baked/grilled/blackened etc.. Any places have a good flounder dish?

I went to Dejulio Brothers Friday night for Valentines and had the flounder. It was very good- it had a crust, some Italian style crust with Artichoke sauce on top- it was excellent. You may wanna call first before you go though- it may have been only for Friday. Id just call some seafood place around town- Acme, parrains, Chimes, LA Lagniappe... and see if any of them have flounder

Not sure who has flounder right now.. Flounder is really a fall/winter early summer fish not many are found inshore right now. By April though they will move back in.

Been there several times. Never been to La Lagniappe. Any suggestions there?

Easily best seafood in BR.

I suggest getting there early though like within 1st hour of opening otherwise prepare to wait.. There are a ton of suggestions on this board though just look around. I always choose the pontchartrain.

BTW Mike Andersons probably still has a stuffed flounder on their menu.. I havent been in a long time so Im not sure but many places will try to sell frozen flounder which isnt the southern flounder found offshore. Louisiana Lagniappe serves mostly black drum or red snapper.

Examples? I know at LL its generally Drum at Parrains its also generally Drum.. I know that Opie said that he will use Tilapia but tell his customers about it and he only uses it if its the only thing he can get that is fresh. Maybe Im lucky but I havent run into a fish of the day to be Tilapia yet.

Chilean Sea Bass

I can't believe people are still falling for this nonsense. The Patagonian Toothfish (Chilean Sea Bass) are being over fished. There is a black market for this critter, and to go along with the heavy pressure on the toothfish, it has been effecting other sea life as well. I'm not trying to preach to you, but I personally wouldn't order it if it was on the menu.

Tilapia is a bunch of tomfoolery and I wish people would stop eating that disgusting animal.

They always have fresh stuffed flounder on the menu and I think Brunet's does as well.

I caught seven last weekend around Catfish lake about as big as a five gallon bucket lid.
