Kiffin's first year at Ole Miss

5-5
It was the covid year, but his record his first year at Ole Miss was 5-5. The following year he was 10-3 with a Sugar Bowl loss so the hunt for 11-2 was very real.
He then turned them around from there. He's taking over at LSU after Kelly destroyed the program, similar to what Kelly inherited after O.
Kiffin is a great coach with a proven record, but he still deserves a honeymoon period his first year. Let's let the rest of the transfer period work itself out and see how the team performs in the fall. If anyone can take average and squeeze above average results out of it, it's Kiffin.
We're still sitting pretty overall.

OM is desperate to capitalize on THIS run and securing a few possible 2026 pieces, can’t blame em.
Sucks we’re helping em but it is what it is.
They also KNOW this isn’t going to be the norm or at least they’ll find out soon enough. They’re in a better situation, short term.

No doubt Ole Miss is in a better position right now but we'll have to see if they're able to maintain that. Personally, I don't think they will. I think LSU is and always will be in a much better position going forward.

The program is far from "destroyed." The lowest ranked team to beat the Tigers was 14th ranked Vanderbilt. There were one touchdown or less losses to the 6th, 8th and 14th teams, and an 11 point loss to # 9 which was still a one score game late in the fourth quarter, all on the road. The only bad loss was to A&M in a game they led at the half until the roof caved in. The most important players on offense and defense were injured and missed several games or were limited by their injuries. Of the players who have entered the portal only six have made meaningful contributions. The offensive line players still have potential but their play this season was below par and they will be replaced by players with better performances to date. They may still retain a couple after testing the market. There is top twenty level talent on the roster provided a high level QB is signed. The only defensive player of note leaving is Ahmed Breaux. The returning defensive players and a few high end transfers will again be enough to keepo them in most games. The program is in far better shape now than it was four years ago.

Was OM 7-6 prior to him getting there?
