Article has a paywall, but more information will be coming out about his visit later today, I’m sure.

He’ll tell them what we offered and they’ll offer slightly more. We’ve all seen this movie.

His DC from Penn State, Knowles, is the current DC at Tennessee. I don’t think we’ll be outbid, but that relationship hurts us

we better pull a rabbit out of the hat soon, b/c so far, all this looks the same as HS recruiting... getting outbid at every turn

Our HC is 30 days in and pitching a new school.

but he is not an unknown commodity, neither is the program... both are well known...

and let's be honest... what it all boils down to now is money... not the school, not the history, not the program, not even the coach in a lot of instances... it's the almighty dollar...

all i'm saying is this shite is eerily similar to what we've experienced for a while now... always being the bridesmaid to the bride or being a hat on the table... we're in it for the top guys, but tend to finish 2nd or 3rd, then we have to go to our 2nd, lesser option, which his what happened quite often under Kelly... kinda figured at least that shite was over with, but yet, here we are...

wish i could have that same blind faith, but we've seen this tape play out before... watching us miss out on top flight talent, having to cobble shite together, while our rivals are pulling the best guys available...

i know our coaching will be better, but you are talking about making chicken salad out of chicken shite... why make the job harder for Kiffin & Co.? why rely on the "well, he's an offensive genius, so it doesn't matter who we bring in"? go get the best, make it easier for him overall, and let's roll...

who'd we get outbid for? We held onto our most prized guys from schools wanting to spend sot that's accurate.

Underwood, Dak Moore, Kade Phillips, etc..

let's not act like we are losing these guys b/c they love the other school more than us...

I'm referring to the current regime and proposed NIL figures.

I'm not entirely sure most of the time under BK it was purely just being outbid. Because BK was so disconnected, money was basically the only thing LSU had to recruit around. You weren't coming here to play in an offense that would showcase you for the next level, play for a coach you liked, or a team that was a playoff fixture, so it purely came down to money

You can't get everybody. There just isn't enough money. To further that, you're also going to miss more than you hit with the top targets.

Calm down.

you apparently missed where i said it feels like more the same of what we had before... you are trying to conflate the issue and misrepresent what i said...

let's suppose your argument is correct.. what would be the excuse now?

nor am i saying we will/could/should, etc...

but what i am saying is that we seem to miss out more than we hit on the top guys, and we have to resort to a backup plan b/c we put our eggs in a particular basket..

doesn't seem to be a big problem at other schools who are routinely in the NC discussion... happens to us more often, at least it absolutely feels that way...

Calm down.

oh, i'm calm... i'm just saying, i'm not noticing this supreme shift, even with Kiffin and Co now in the fold... i think we all thought b/c of his success in the portal with top players in the past, that it would just be fish in a barrel with top recruits with Kiffin on board, and losing Sorsby to a lesser school, very possibly losing Coleman (since he's currently still taking visits and not committed to us), that's 2 top prospects we potentially miss on ... we aren't even in the convo for Cam Coleman, and the fan base is split on Leavitt, who isn't a guarantee either apparently, with half of them thinking he's the answer, and half of them thinking he'll need a fricking foot amputation...

we all knew this portal would be crucial, and so far, we aren't exactly gangbusters here... be honest, you ever heard of Jackson Harris, much less wanted him, before the other day? he may be great, who knows... but i do know i have heard of Cam Coleman, Omarion Miller, Terrell Anderson, etc....and sure, let's get it out the way now... "you ever heard of Trindad Chambliss before this year?" no, and had it not been for Simmons' injury, it's likely we'd STILL not have heard of Chambliss, seeing as he was the back up to start the year...

well, we lost out on Sorsby, so you kinda did... Terrell Anderson is another confirmed visitor we just lost out on today...

like i said, i'm not seeing this overwhelming shift yet... maybe it's about to happen... dunno... but so far, it's been more of the same, even with a new, much better coach...

time will tell, i suppose...
