Went from 5% to 10% for 401K
Added a Roth at 5% from the advice from the board.
So 15% now toward my retirement. S&P index.

Good, now get into an HSA if available to you.

I'm paying off all debt except the mortgage this year. I'll be done by end of September and starting in October, I'm maxing out both Roth IRA's as well as my roth 401k at work. Also going to start putting $300/month in both kid's 529 plans. This is the year I finally take back control and build some wealth.

I just did this yesterday ( from 7- 10%) and I'm starting the year in an HSA. I would like to add a Roth soon but that might put too much stress on my budget.

Just made sure my 401k contributions were upped to $2,041.66 / month for 2026.

if you are in build mode, saving taxes (traditional over Roth) and putting that extra income towards debt might be a better option until you are fully free.

Congrats! You are basically a millionaire now. Just have to keep doing the same thing for 25-30 years
