Well. No salad today for lunch (first world problem thread)

What a weird dystopian technology world we live in.
The self checkout kiosks are closed due to “nation wide technical issues.”
So no weight station, so nothing to weigh the salad. So no salad today. They didn’t even put anything out in the salad bar. Only unhealthy bar food you could order with your phone.

This is beyond ridiculous... salad items are perishable. They'd rather toss and write off perfectly good food rather than have everyone pony up like $5-7... what a waste.

The first time I paid for a salad by weight was about 30 years ago. It was at the cafeteria of the hospital we were doing work in to prepare them for their big inspection.
I think I remember it being close to $10.
Unbelievable.
It does make you lay off on the toppings and dressing a bit!

This makes no sense. A cafeteria can come under many different types. I was talking about the cafeteria at work. How is having a a work cafeteria 3rd world?
