I’m pretty sure he was arrested for that while with the Saints at some point? Drugs in the car or something

This.

There are area where if you're traveling in your vehicle and you have a fire arm you have to have the weapon (unloaded) and stored in a locked containment and yo u have to have the ammunition stored in a separate locked container and both container have to be separated by a certain distance. If not done properly, this could constitute improper handling of a firearm.

On the surface, I'd agree. But, based on the charges I'll dog him for being a dumbass

quote:

He was arrested on charges of carrying concealed weapons and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, according to police.
Police said Lattimore was arrested for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle because he did not inform the officer that a firearm was inside the vehicle when asked.

So, the cop pulled the car over due to expired tags. Asked if there was a firearm in the vehicle, and Latt said no. And when they conducted the search, they found it and hit him with the concealed and improper handling charges.

Should not warrant any discipline from the team/NFL; but he's a dumbass for lying to the police during the traffic stop.

Still not going to dog him. If I somehow happen to be driving through say, Chicago, and I get pulled over, i'm going to deny having a firearm in the vehicle. If I admit to it, they'll want to confiscate it and arrest me for having it, if I don't, they're gonna need a warrant to search for one. One would say, hey jist don't drive in your car where it's illegal, and that isn't always feasible.

I wouldn’t. While I was living in California where I would recommend driving with a firearm loaded, they have a crazy law where the gun has to be in a locked container in the trunk and the magazine in the glove… idiotic.

Better caught with it than without it young with all that money and notoriety. But as far as NFL this gets worse and worse this was an absolute trade rape.

Seems there are a few details missing. What wat the probable cause to search the vehicle? and WTF would Latt consent to a search of his vehicle for an expired tag violation?

Exactly. There was police cam video posted on this board of the first arrest.

IIRC, the Ohio law is you have to announce you have a weapon on you before a traffic cop even asks you if you have a weapon on you. Dumb law, and even the cops were understanding why a celebrity would carry a weapon, and were almost apologetic letting him know he broke the law. The sargent who arrived later, was less accomodating: "he broke a law; arrest him."

Dumb law, but he didn't learn from the first time.

Yeah, from September off and on thru February of every year, I have fire arms and ammo on the passenger seat of my Jeep because I live to hunt and go any chance I get.

Not saying he was going hunting but the 2nd Amendment is also not about hunting.
