Stickers Across My Yard

Every year by the time spring rolls around my grass is literally 70% stickers to grass. I want to eliminate the problem this year. What do I do about it? When? Are there working remedies or do I need some type of treatment from Cleggs or what not?

You need to apply a preemergent in October/November to control them. The type of preemergent depends on the type of good grass that you have.

Spray something for weeds immediately…you need to kill them before they produce seeds (stickers) that will grow next spring. Also put out some pre emerge late in the year to keep the seeds you missed from sprouting.
Finally, stickers grow when your lawn is not healthy. There is nothing you can do about shade, but fertilize and water to keep your existing grass healthy

A guy told me to apply high nitrogen fertilizer in May. It knocked out almost all of them
