Columbia has always been dialed into Iranian issues.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former President of Iran, famously stated during a speech at Columbia University in 2007 that "we don't have homosexuals" in Iran,




No one jeered or challenged him, the student audience snickered & laughed. Not wishing to embarrass or make an issue of his statement. Even then, the anti Jew, pro Islam pull was being felt on campuses here in the USA.
