2026 Presaason Ranking & Game Day #1

After signing Leavitt and some coming OLs we will be ranked in 2026 projections as 6-8th . I also think we may be a great candidate for Garme Day #1 against Clemson . Add in the Kiffin story line with a night game and you have a the best gumbo served opening the season .

OP did not say ranked #1, but I also do not agree with #6-8 after the 7-6 season.

We're obviously 8 months out, but I don't think there are many other potential matchups as intriguing as LSU v Clemson in week 1.
Other possibilities:
UCLA at Cal
Tulane at Duke
Louisville v. Ole Miss (is it on Sunday? Also, I imagine LSU at Ole Miss week 3 is too tempting for gameday)
Boise St at Oregon

Still too high.
I did mess up and read him saying we were going to be ranked #1 against clemson, not that we would be the #1 choice

Just food for thought, we were unranked to start the season in 2022 after finishing 6-7 in 2021, had a great portal class, and made a big splash HC hire (on paper)

Pump the brakes. We were ranked 1 in the portal last year too. I’m much more comfortable with this staff but we have no idea at this point what this team will look like.

I think we will be surprisingly competitive but will be lucky to be in the top 20 to start off.

Pretty much a guarantee. The only other game really worth seeing is FSU vs Alabama. (Florida Auburn will be a good game, but probably not much national interest).
Pretty much all the other schools like OSU, Michigan, Indiana, etc play scrubs.

LSU will be ranked in the teens most likely 15/16 or so

we will ranked like #15-#20 and based on our records last year, LSU Clemson will be a prime time game but NOT gameday.

I think we'll be ranked 10-12 or somewhere around there.
