Will be in Biloxi in March and need to choose between these 2 for a group of 10-12 golfers. Which would you recommend? Which is in better shape? Haven't played either personally. Looks like they're about the same $ wise.

I don't know how much help this will be since I last played them both on a guys golf trip in 22. We couldn't come to a consensus on which course was better. They were both in great shape and a lot of fun. Since you said that you were in Biloxi, I would probably go to the Preserve since it's likely half the drive time.

The preserve without question IMO

The Preserve is a better overall experience and should be a better course. The service is just better at The Preserve.
In the winter, who knows on the course conditions though. We haven’t played out there since this past summer. We usually go around the end of August, but were unable to make it this year.
They are completely different experiences. The Preserve has the marshy coastal vibe and Grand Bear is in the middle of hilly pine woods.
If you’re staying in Biloxi, it’s 20 min to The Preserve and around 35-40 to grand Bear.
Shell Landing is a fun play too. More laid back than The Preserve and the greens are always in primo shape.
If youre staying at The Beau, you should try to get on Fallen Oak. It’s better than any of the others.

I will agree with this. It's not that the service is bad at Grand Bear, but the Preserve was just unexpectedly nice. It's really nice when the starter comes to get you for your tee time instead of being anxious about getting over there. You can continue to chip and putt until they let you know that you can head over to the first tee.

Yep…. That and someone grabbing your clubs out of your car, cart girls and everyone being attentive. Then the course is almost always in great shape.
The first time we played Fallen Oak, we tried to put our shoes on in the parking lot. A guy rode up and looked at us like we were white trash….
He said, put your shoes on in the locker room like civilized people. He smiled afterwards and took us up to the clubhouse in the cart.

Grand Bear all day. Preserve was overrated to me.

Have played there a couple times now. Unbelievable experience and great course.
Second shell landing as well. We played there with a group of 8 and it was smooth sailing. Course was in great shape.
