Just coming here to post this. This is a great offseason to have fired your coach.

Likely a mutual decision from both parties. He’s a good coach, but it was time.

Tomlin will have a HC job this cycle or next if he wants it, same as Harbaugh.

Will be very interesting to see who the Steelers go with. Likely a young guy they can keep around for awhile. Tomlin was 34 when he was hired.

Who is the longest tenured HC now? Is it really Mcvay? ETA: Mcvay, McDermott, Shanahan all hired in 2017. Reid hired in 2013.

He’ll take a year off most likely. Wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a tv job and that’s his career now.

Reid definitely predates McVay

I think Tomlin takes at least a year off. It will be fascinating to see who the Steelers target though and if they actually commit to somewhat of a rebuild

I know the Bengals won't do it, but.....I'd fire Zac Taylor in a heartbeat for Mike Tomlin.

Edit: Would go after Harbaugh or Joe Brady first for Burrow's sake (he needs an offensive-minded coach that he doesn't have to carry), but Mike Tomlin clears Taylor too imo.

Not sure why you got the down votes. They are the inspiration for the Rooney rule. Maybe they will hire the first female HC.

quote:

What It Is
Mandatory Interviews: Teams must interview at least two diverse candidates (minority or female) for head coach, general manager, and coordinator positions, and one for the quarterback coach role.
Named After Dan Rooney: The rule is named for the late Pittsburgh Steelers owner and chairman of the league's Workplace Diversity Committee (now DEI Committee).
Expanded Scope: Initially focused on head coaches, it now covers more senior roles and includes women in the definition of minority candidates.

Something nobody asked for but TV Execs probably at Ryan Clark's mothership.

Not that fans waited with baited breath for a Mike Tomlin presser.

But I guess if you played or coached and check the right demo, everyone gets thrown in front of the Camera even if they have nothing to say.
