Parents, please stay on guard with your kids’ internet usage - last year the FBI executed a major spike in arrests related to 764 (25%) and a 490% increase in NVE arrests alone - a class often tied with online abuse. That work included terminating 3.8 million pedophile accounts on the Dark Web. Through Ops Restore Justice, Enduring Justice, and Relentless Justice FBI and local partners arrested over 700 alleged child abusers.
Getting the violent offenders off the street is a huge win but this is still a deeply serious issue we need the public to be on guard against.

i hate that 'dark web' term. its like people dont get that the internet existed before the mosaic browser and http protocol was added. so yes, shocking but there's a whole world of connected resources that dont show up in a friendly HTML page.

"Surface web" these days is "Anything that has an app." A file system and a browser might as well be hieroglyphics to most post-socials users.
