If Jalen Hurts actually had to pass, you are likely going to lose

If tweet fails to load, click here. How, how on 2025 with all available data etc to people blindly just accept a QB being “good” because a team wins?

once Kellen Moore committed to Barkley and the run game, it won them a Super Bowl
AJ Brown didn't help matters either

Why do people believe they lost because he threw some arbitrary #of passes ? If they only threw 29 or 28 passes would the result be different? Is holding the Denver game against him any different than crediting him they won?

They did everything they could this year to try and not pass as well

You run the ball more when you’re winning. And Jalen has good legs. And Barkley is elite. Jalen is not. It’s a team game.

I give the eagles defense a great deal of credit for that superbowl win, they dominated the chiefs offense.

That’s the question to ask yourself.

Are we giving the QB credit for team wins or not?
If you have a 14 point lead in the 4th and lose and the QB has no turnovers and 280 yards passing how exactly is it his fault? Don’t think they win if he throws 25 passes instead?

When the other team scores over 20 the eagles have a losing record.

Saban already knew this. Pretty remarkable a guy who was benched in college for not being able to make the throws ended up in a NFL starting role

The extreme minority of QBs in the NFL that would make it regardless of where they were drafted
There are 100s of QBs that come through that are completely dependent on who drafts them to determine will they wash out
If hurts for drafted by like 80% of nfl teams he would have washed out. There were very few teams tha he could survive. He happened to be drafted to one

No I know it is because I looked at the box score from the Denver game that was referenced in one of the tweets you posted. It was 17-3 after 3Q, Hurts was 23-38-280-2-0, he also didn’t fumble. Barkley had a whopping 30 yards rushing on 6 att. So was it Hursts fault they couldn’t or didn’t even try to run? Was it his fault the defense gave up 18 in one quarter? Please explain why it’s his fault when they lose but he gets zero credit when they win.

And what is the record of all other teams when they give up 20? When you cherry pick stats with no context it looks more like an agenda. I would agree he’s not an elite passer, so what? He fits the offense the Eagles run and they’ve been successful with him. Allen wasn’t available form them

At first glance, I don’t think this is a massive indictment of Jalen.

Part of the reason he transferred to Oklahoma on Saban’s suggestion is to become a better passer, which he did.

I agree with this, though I would add that maybe just maybe that’s why the Eagles drafted him

He was very lucky for that.
If there was a very good all around team that was totally willing to scheme around his weaknesses Tim Tebow could’ve been an NFL starter too. He just wasn’t that lucky

I’m not at all on the Hurts hype train but you could argue when you’re losing, you’re naturally throwing more passes to try and comeback.
So of course your record would be shitty
