Ok. Sorry if wrong board. Been trying to figure out where to post this to ask.
So if REV share is 20.5 mil a year. Which it seems to be. Then guys with multiple years remaining their "contracts" are divided up between the amount of years they have left. So same someone like Leavitt signs for 6 mil. He has 2 years remaining that he can play. So that 6 is divided up between this year and next.
I am pretty sure that is how it goes and would explain why these teams have so much money because the math wasnt mathing.
Am I correct on this? I know LSU will have plenty of outside NIL help but SEC teams as a whole have 20.5 million in revenue sharing they can use.

These are 1 year contracts. 6m this year. Renegotiate next year.

I THINK that they sign him for $6MM (per year by the way) then the Bayou Traditions finds him NIL deals to offset.
So if they find him $3.5MM in legit NIL, his revshare from LSU out of the pot is $2.5MM

It is based on how they report it.
Joe Blow signing for $10 million could be $5 mil a year for 2 years and the $5 mil could be 2 mil rev share and $3 mil NIL. We never really get a clear breakdown of most offers.
The media will always phrase it to sensationalize.

3 down votes on just asking questions. Wow....
Thank you for those that responded. I remember seeing Underwood at 10 mil and was like what the hell. Then found out that was broken down between 4 years. I just wondered if they were all like that

The rev share money is split betweent all sports, with the bulk of it going to football. I dont know if we ever get an accurate number of how its broken down individually per player.
Also, NIL is different, and is supposed to go through the clearing house now. I'm sure teams have figured out ways to wiggle around that, to be able to promise so much to players.
There isn't any clear answers, because there isn't any clear guidelines. Its literally the wild west. I'm just glad we are playing the game better than almost everybody else currently.

Up to 75% can be spent on Football so about 15 million. Everything else goes through NIL / LSU Max Program which is not controlled by LSU.

All you need to know is Lane Kiffin got a lot of money and he’s not scared to spend it.
