LSU baseball is getting screwed in revenue share

LSU Athletics has implemented a new revenue-sharing model following the House v. NCAA settlement, allowing the university to distribute up to $20.5 million in athletics revenue directly to student-athletes starting July 1, 2025. The funds are allocated based on a formula tied to historical revenue generation, with 75% ($13.5 million) going to football, 15% ($2.7 million) to men’s basketball, 5% ($900,000) to women’s basketball, and 5% ($900,000) distributed across LSU’s other 18 sports.
Ole Miss is giving 7.5% just to baseball. Verge has to fix this. Take money away from MBB to pay baseball

Coach J got the private donors
Posted on 1/14/26 at 9:45 pm to Sheppards Pie
Are they getting money from elsewhere?
Posted on 1/14/26 at 9:45 pm to JimTiger72
I just found the deal and it’s even worse than I thought

I agree take 100% of men’s basketball funds since that’s clearly wasted money and put it towards baseball
Posted on 1/14/26 at 9:49 pm to Sheppards Pie
Baseball is getting 300k for rev sharing

Baseball has several private donors that make up the difference but I do agree with your point. Excellence should be rewarded.

That’s not the point. The point is that schools like Ole Miss are allocating more for baseball regardless of the revenue and that puts LSU baseball at a disadvantage. You can’t be this ignorant

Ole Miss doesn’t have the private money that lsu does. I know we took their football coach but we don’t have to copy them in everything

It isn’t just Ole Miss by the way. They are just one example. Tennessee did the same thing

You can continue melting if you want

Not melting. I’m just saying Scott put LSU baseball in a bad situation and it needs to get fixed. And I think Verge will fix it

That’s quite the take considering he hired Jay Johnson & we’ve won 2 natties since then. Trust me, LSU baseball is not struggling

5% ($900,000) to women’s basketball
This is the problem. And they have 1/3 the number of players to spread it across compared to baseball

Womens basketball loses 8 million a year, gotdamn

Nuke the women's basketball and track and field budgets. That's $15 million gone. Why is the university spending so much money on those programs?
Posted on 1/14/26 at 10:57 pm to Sheppards Pie
Should take the WBB and give to baseball
