WTF happened to David Lee Roth?!?

One of the greatest frontmen of all time. Not the best vocalist. He still had a great voice and Van Halen is one of my all time favorite bands. As an entertainer, he was untouchable at his peak.
WTF happened?
WTF happened?

He got old. An old man gave me the best advice I've ever gotten....young man, don't get old. I've followed that advice

OMG, bruh. What the frick is Vince Neil doing in that clip?! That’s horrendous. If cancer was audible, it would sound like that.

If I ever need an EMT, I expect David Lee Roth to be my guy.

He's touring and playing the Stone Pony Summer stage this year, I may have to walk down and listen for a bit.

After he appeared in Silence of the Lambs he went off the rails

He's 71 years old and lived life in the fast lane.

He appears senile more than anything.

Yep much much older than when I saw them at the Centroplex in 1981, but we all are
I kind of think opposite of OP. Thought he did not have the best voice but ended up being a great vocalist with his singing style matched to the VH sound.
I've come to think of him as kind of a crooner, Tony Bennett style rock singer. Which reminds me, didn't DLR say he'd like to be the next Sinatra of Vegas? I'm sure he'll try - Frank made it to 82!

Billy Idol is another one who needs to hang it up.

I saw a solo show of his at a casino about 7-8 years ago and he didn't even sing one song all the way through. He spent about half of each song just holding the microphone toward the crowd.

The same thing that happened to all of us who were in our prime in the 80s. We got old. The only things improved by forty years of aging are whiskey and wine.

Dude's in his 70's, and his style of singing is one that puts a lot of strain on one's voice. It was a wonder how he managed to sustain his career as long as he did considering his lifestyle.

I don't know, man. Billy might be 70, but he still seems like Billy to me unlike Vince and Dave.
