Why do you think the DC Uniparty sold the US middle class/the US out to China?

Who are the insane people who decided after defeating the USSR in the Cold War it's a great idea to invest literally trillions of US dollars into a communist nation? And the better question is why would you think that's in the best interest of the nation and the American people?
You can't buy a communist made Cuban cigar legally in the US but you can go into any big box retail store in the US and fill your shopping cart with Chinese trinkets and other goods from the self avowed economic and military enemy of the US.
Many will claim the reason the US Corporatocracy dropped trillions into communist China was in hopes they would morph into a Western style democracy. Imagine how gullible one has to be to believe the oldest continuous civilization in world history is going to allow a Western democracy to influence their communist government to eventually embrace Western democracy.
No, this^^^ BS wasn't the reason the US Corporatocracy sold out the US to communist China, they did it to get filthy rich while sucking the life out of the US middle-class like the greedy vampires they are.
I can almost hear these people scheming as they were making their trade deals with China. A buncha corperate lobbyists, convincing their bought and paid for politicians in DC the dismantling of US industrial might is in the best interest of the US and global democracy.
I can almost hear them saying,
"Let's get this party rolling and the cash flowing, we'll all be long gone by the time the proverbial chickens come home to roost."

The reasoning at the time was this: If we integrate China into the world economy they will be dependent on it and will liberalize and won’t start wars. It was a historic mistake.

If fdr had given a care to the situation in china before 1935 the world would have turned out completely different.
Allowing japan to run amuck in china was a mistake.

It made them a lot of money.

Kissinger ... he influenced Nixon to make this monumentally disastrous foreign policy mistake, but we must remember that Hindsight is 20/20.
I remember it well and, at the time, it seemed like prudent foreign policy. (For many multifaceted reasons.)
The "Red Chinese" (as we called them) and their hordes were in cahoots with the Soviet Union and had just made life very difficult for us in both Korea and Vietnam.
Then there was the production manpower part of the equation. China claimed to have over a billion inhabitants at the time, 4x what we had, and their offer to produce products, for a fraction of what it was costing us at home, was too enticing to ignore. Not to mention the new market of a billion potential buyers opening-up to American businesses.
What Kissinger failed (or refused to) recognize was the potential for MASSIVE intellectual property theft by the commie bastards who had no intention of ever becoming a democracy in the process.
To understand why China will never be a democracy one must first understand their ancient history and genetic make-up, but also their relatively recent history (past two centuries) under Colonial influence ... especially the British. (Think opium epidemic.)
To top it all off with the Chinese, their hatred of the Japanese (understandable considering both ancient history and WWII history) and our alliance with Japan (probably our finest ally in today's world) prevents China from ever viewing us as an ally or friend. To them we are nothing more than a host from which they are duty sworn to leech from until we are sucked dry.
The Maoist Doctrine is based on Marxism as is every form of communism. Leninist, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Satanist ... because Marx was a luciferian. Organized religion is not allowed to supersede the Party's Rule. (Neither are women allowed to hold any great power as individuals.)
Maoists are every bit as set on eventual world domination as are Islamists. Some might argue moreso insomuch as, unlike every other civilization on earth today which welcomes Islam into its circle ... China is absolutely intolerant of Islam.
Islam recognizes this and, to some extent even appreciates and respects this philosophy.
But China hates Islam. China despises all uncontrollable organized religion, but they hate Islam in particular because Islam is as rigid as are they ... and they see that as very very dangerous. Islam plays the exact same long game that China plays. Drip, drip, drip ... while using their adversaries' freedoms and openness against them.
Much as they viewed feudal Japan under Samurai rule before being Westernized .. China no longer fears Japan, but they do fear unchecked Islam within their realm.
Kissinger made a very strategic long term error with the Chinese.

It’s not China it’s globalism.
The globalists will use whatever tool necessary to break the American middle class so they can institute their new structures and consolidate their power over the last obstacle to their global hegemony.

1) $$$

3) $$$
4) In addition to $$$ some of them, like Adam Schiff, are extremely dysfunctional, pedophiles, etc.
5) Some, like Obama and Ilhan Omar, simply HATE what America has always stood for.

Nixon started the ball rolling as he was the first to "go to China." At the time China was completely closed and isolationist and were in a rivalry with the USSR. He figured if we could open trade and let them industrialize a bit, we could keep them in our sphere and not Russia's. This was 1972 when Vietnam was still ongoing, so a secondary goal was he hoped he could convince China to get North Vietnam in line and make them negotiate.
It worked for a while, The problem is I don't think Nixon figured the USSR would collapse in just 20 years. I think he probably thought China would abandon their communist government before the USSR.
The USSR collapsed in 1991, leaving China as the lone communist power. And here we are in 2026 with China's communist party still controlling the country with an iron fist. All the while propagandizing a lot of idiots on Twitter that they are a "free" country with many happy citizens.

Peoole forget, and historians hide the fact, that FDR's first VP, Henry Wallace, was a communist.
Progressive historians have pushed him as the founder of the "New Progressive Party," but he was a well known, self avowed, Communist at the time.
As Sec of Ag and Sec of Commerce he continued to push his Communist agenda through outreaches to the USSR before, during, and after FDR ... until Truman eventually fired him for preaching Communist doctrine.
Wallace was particularly a favorite among farmers (who wanted cheap Mexican labor) and Unions (who wanted Communist labor laws enacted) and women, (who wanted socialism, open borders, and interracial marriages) ... to the point where Wallace ran for President as a (sic: Communist) "New Progressive" third part candidate, against Truman, in 1948.

The day those little bastards crossed into Korea should have been their end.

Pretty accurate from a historical perspective, I remember this^^^ too.
I think what's interesting is when the Tiananmen Square protests were really gaining traction we had National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft having a secret meetings with the CCP to salvage the US/China economic relationship before it all evaporated. It was like the US decided the best path forward was to side with the CCP vs standing with street level Chinese who were seeking freedom. What's even crazier it was fricking Nancy Pelosi who visited Tiananmen Square (two years after the uprising was crushed) to pay her respects to the street level Chinese who were killed.
A few years after Tiananmen Square we have Slick Wilie Clinton pimping for China to become a member of the WTO. China was admitted to the WTO in December of 2001 and here we are today, with an adversary of our own making.

Because they didn’t think they were. The plan was that China would get a taste of free markets and liberalize, and join the New World Order. It wasn’t a crazy idea; it just didn’t work.
Sure, there are a few, like George Soros, who would cream in their pants at the entire Anglosphere going under, but that’s not what most of them are.
ETA: SloaneRanger made the point up above.

No it was crazy. There wasn't one serious person who believed that BS after Tiananmen Square..

After TS it was working well for almost a quarter of a century, then Xi came to power and radically changed the direction.
