That’s what I’ve got in Madison Parish. Does bunching up and mature bucks feeding in daylight.

“I’m seeing does back in herds “
That’s pretty much all I saw this whole hunting season,it was a very strange season.Only once did I see a single doe by herself.I saw does most every sit but it was always 3,4,5 together.Usually it was a older doe with a yearling or 2 and a fawn or 2.Same for the nighttime pictures on my cameras.
Only saw one chase,a 4 pt chasing a doe.
Saw very few bucks, mostly what I did see were spikes,3 or 4 points.
I did kill an 8 pt,weighed 152 but only had 11 1/2 in spread.
I had probably. 40 pictures each of 2 nice bucks, both 8 pts.One I think was 2 1/2 y.o.,the other looked to be 4 1/2.Only got 1 daytime picture of each of them.Of,course never saw either one.
I suppose it was due to how warm it was this year.

“It’s all them damn acorns”
What do acorns have to do with seeing does in groups and only 1 solitary doe?
I’ e been hunting my family land exclusively last 15-16 years and what I saw this year is not the norm. Our rut is around Nov.15,plus or minus a week or so,Normally see a good many solitary does and fawns wandering around.
All we have is Water Oaks and a few Willow oaks, didn’t have as many acorns as we do lots of years.
I’ve got 1/2 dozen Sawtooth Oaks that are loaded every year but deer don’t eat them, either do the squirrels.

I am afraid that will be the case in Franklin County. They were chasing hard last weekend. I may go and brave the elements in a box this weekend.

saw big groups in West Texas this past weekend. No big bucks though. All does, spikes, etc. But groups of 5-8.
