I know it's Laura Linney. Ozark, Downton Abbey etc.. But, what is this scene from?

Thanks. I tried glancing through a few of her shows in IMDB. But, I figured this place would be faster.

I sometimes forget that her and Judy Greer are both good looking, they're just not Hollywood good looking if that makes sense.

I only knew her from Downton Abbey. And then I watched Ozark and was like "damn! That's the same woman?"

Never heard of this show but, I'd check it out just because of this scene.

You just record-scratched my brain and then I remembered she was the Alistaire Cooke for the PBS broadcasts.

it's super depressing. not like the good kind. I'll spoil it a little bit, but not too much.

*******SPOILER*******

Linney finds out she has cancer and keeps it to herself. She gets pissy at everyone around her because she is carrying that burden by herself and resents that nobody is going through it with her. She cheats on her husband and only tells him she's going through cancer to get out of the consequences.

They were doing completely unlikeable scumbag characters we are supposed to root for back then? I thought that was just a recent thing

I’d argue FX has been doing this since early 2000s with shield, rescue me, nip/tuck, etc.

That's been a thing

Six Feet Under made it their mission to make every character halfway despicable. Other shows like the Sopranos and Breaking Bad featured despicable central characters but often manipulated the audience to make them less obviously hateable

I only know her from The Truman Show and Frasier.

(ETA: I saw Mystic River, but I don't remember her from it.)

I guess I had this idea of a "proper/uppity" type woman. Then I watched Ozark. Was kind of shocked.

Judy Greer was sexy AF in Californication. But unfortunately, she was one of the few women on that show that did not disrobe.
