Are they able to walk at the age of 50 without getting new knees?

I’m thinking ankles and hips too. None of that could be good long term, but it does look fun.

I read a study in a kinesiology class in college that said something like half of mogul skiers will have a major knee injury in the course of competition.

Also rough on the hips. Good technique can reduce risk but inevitably it’s a big wear and tear issue.

Here’s the 8 finalists, the footage captured is spectacular. Liz Lemley, from Vail, Co. in her 1st Olympics won the whole fricking thing. Jaelin Kauf of Wyoming & the Tetons took the silver. I hadn’t seen any of it, 8 minutes of the finals in total, Lemley ski’s 2nd & Kauf ski’s 7th.

That holds true for all world cup skiers.

If you aren’t a great skier there’s nothing fun about moguls

I only ski blues and the occasional black but I still get my arse kicked on moguls

100% agree. I’m a pretty good skier, and used to tackle moguls here and there when I was in my 20s. Never was great at them but liked the challenge. Now, at 41 and 3 knee surgeries later, I find them very taxing and not really enjoyable at all. It’s a hard skill to master skiing a couple days a year. If I lived near a ski area, I like to think it would be a little different. Those damn bumps beat you to hell.
