Actually, that has been my question going back years when we started funding Ukraine.
What is the goal?
What does victory look like?
How do you intend to defeat Russia?
No one, even the ambassador on that panel, can answer those questions.
For crying out loud, Trump can’t answer those questions and he knows it. That’s why he’s working tirelessly on a negotiated peace between Russia and Ukraine. You can’t defeat Russia in this conflict without taking out not only Putin, but the entire country’s leadership including their military leaders. Explain how you can do that with a country that has more nuclear weapons than any other in the world.

The EU/globalists/deep state all know those answers they just aren’t going to admit it publicly.
They denied Russia admittance to NATO and intended to make Ukraine a part of NATO.
There is quite simply a faction that wants conflict with Russia because it drives defense spending and helps unify their political coalition.
Ukraine since we ran the color revolution there has been a hotbed of money laundering, corruption, defense spending, CIA activity and illegal biolabs all of which advanced the goals and agenda of the globalists/deep state.
There’s also more from an undercurrent perspective with regard to some powerful factions harboring feuds with Russia and wanting retribution but it would be distracting to get into that as the other reasons are enough.

The West's goal was to bleed Russia white while crippling their economy which, they hoped, would lead to the fall of Putin. They have failed, massively, on both counts. Trouble is, they don't realize how "pro-West," from a certain perspective, Putin has been, and any leader they have waiting is going to be a hardliner who is much more hawkish.
The entire War was predicated on lies, based on stupidity, and continues because the corrupt, terrorist regime in Kiev would rather see all of Ukraine burn than make peace.
