Scott loved the role of Patton and greatly admired the man.

What a professional actor. His facial expressions and body language often said more than words.

My favorite line from the film: "Rommel, you magnificent bastard! I read your book!"

One of the films that I will stop scrolling to watch. Every time, not matter how early or late in the movie I catch it.

We should’ve listened to Patton.

Well, you don't have to tell your grandson you spent the war shoveling shite in Louisiana.

George C. Scott was a legendary actor. What a great and authoritative voice and presence. Interesting video.

Great actor and performance but their voices were completely opposite of each other.

"The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about individuality for the Saturday Evening Post don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating".

Seeing Patton was the only time my dad darkened the doors of a movie theatre. It’s the only movie he took me to see as a child.

They sure were. However, despite knowing exactly what Patton sounded like, I still hear Scott when I come across a quote from Patton in text form.

The North Africa scenes are the ones I remember most. Background music and all.

My father's best friend was a staff officer for Patton in the Third Army in Europe, and interacted with him daily. He told me when I was a kid that GCS absolutely nailed it - he thought he WAS watching Patton in the theater....he was spellbound the entire time.

North Africa is the opening action scene. The Patton Theme starts right off the bat.

Jerry Goldsmith played on George Patton's belief in Reincarnation and warrior for his signature soundtrack, using those fading horn echos as representative of Patton reaching back into his past. Soundtrack is amazing and inspirational.

Awesome experience! I can imagine touching someone relating anecdotes so close to the legend -- had to be riveting. GCS's performance was so enthralling and immersive, it's become difficult to separate Patton / George C. Scott with the real Patton.

In case you guys haven't watched 'The Last Days Of Patton' (1986) for a while....or ever, George C. Scott reprises his epic role.

Patton was a man who could hate his enemy completely during battle and yet at the same time admire their courage, tenacity, and skill. There's a great scene in The Last Days of Patton where he dresses down SS POW's for looking slovenly, and orders them to "spit and polish again" with uniforms to regain their pride so they can be useful in rebuilding Germany. Ike famously, or infamously, dressed him down for this. Germany might be a different place today if men like Patton oversaw its rebuilding instead of the crew we put in place.
