Nobodys worried, he's not a great pitcher. He's a average pitcher that can get outs occasionally against certain lineups but he doesn't have great stuff or control and games like this I totally expect from him.

Cowan is an amazing relief pitcher or an occasional start if you use him appropriately. When is he the most affective? Probably when you’re trying to show something the team you’re playing hasn’t seen yet.

You must not have watched what he did against Arkansas in Omaha last year.

I’m not really worried about him. If he doesn’t pull it together he just won’t pitch much this year. That’s it

What makes you say this? He got absolutely killed last year against sec teams and struggled this year against way poorer competition. One Arkansas start in a huge ballpark in Omaha? We need guys like him, not saying he doesn't have a spot or hold any value here but he's not an amazing, elite pitcher. Neither were Nate Akenhausen or Riley Cooper in 2023 and we don't win it without them or him last year. But I don't get this elite narrative. He's had as many bad outings as good ones here.

His performance against Arky in Omaha was incredible. In fact, he had Arkansas number and pitched well against them during the season. But outside of those two appearances, Cowan was not good down the stretch. Unfortunately, he must have elite command to be effective. Once teams stopped chasing the change-up out the zone, he started walking more batters and getting banged around. I'd expect much of the same this year unless he can find the command again.

On April 15th of last year, Zac Cowan led the SEC in ERA at .47. SEC games only. He’d given up 1 ER in 19.1 innings pitched over 6 outings. 10 hits, 4 walks, 23 strikeouts. Faced 73 batters and given ZERO extra base hits. lol.

Do the last part of the sec schedule.

He threw up zeros twice against Arkansas, twice against Tennessee, against Texas, Auburn, and Oklahoma. He had a couple of bad outings in the last month of the season then got his shite back together in Omaha. He was dominant against everyone most of last season

He was better than i remember going back n lookin at it early on in SEC play, will give you that but he had as bad of a month as you could probably have as a high leverage guy against Alabama, A&M twice, South Carolina, Arkansas LR. I just think the books out on him. Dont swing at fb's out of the zone and sit on off speed stuff that come over the plate. One great start in last 9 appearances isn't elite level stuff. Just dont see him being a reliable option out of the pen.

Thank you. People on here are all about what have you done for me lately and it’s annoying as hell. If you really don’t like to watch when he’s pitching cuz he’s not up to your standards then just don’t watch. Tune in when lsu is up by 10.
