quote:

U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow, who President Donald Trump has endorsed to be Louisiana’s next senator, did not follow a federal law that required her to report 210 individual stock trades over the past two years, according to a document she filed with Congress last month.

In 100 of those trades, Letlow reported the transactions more than a year late, according to the stock trading report – known as the Periodic Transaction Report – that she filed on Jan. 13, 2026.

In all, the trades involved stocks worth anywhere from $225,000 to $3,185,000. Members of Congress provide a range of the value for each trade.

quote:

Under a 2012 law passed by Congress known as the STOCK Act, Letlow and all members of Congress have to report individual stock trades within 45 days of the transaction.

But the report she filed last month shows that she violated federal law by failing to do so in those 210 transactions.

That was a significant number, said Kedric Payne, the senior director of ethics at the Campaign Legal Center, a nonprofit in Washington, D.C.

Terrible.

But less terrible than voting to impeach Trump.

Cassidy has been terrible beyond just that vote. And Letlow is not the only viable alternative.

I think Trump made a mistake endorsing Letlow. I am leaning heavily towards John Fleming. Trump should have withheld endorsement absent supporting an open field of Republican challengers to unseat Cassidy.

Not voting for her or Cassidy. Her voting record is worse than Cassidy’s. She hasn’t been in DC very long and she’s already showing signs of being a swamp creature. Fleming has my vote.

I don’t really trust someone who’s only in politics because her husband died. We didn’t know anything about her and she was basically handed a spot in the House. Now she wants to go from political wife to US Senator off her dead husband’s coattails. Plus I don’t trust women politicians to begin with.

I feel Letlow has the silent majority. I know Fleming isn't well liked because he has been so far hard right. Majority of Louisiana conservatives are middle of the road conservative and not hard far right. ITs like 61%. Then you got your liberals that also have conservative values that she caters too.. I feel she gets the W into the runoff and walks away with it with right leaning liberals in the end. I feel Fleming will not appease enough right leaning liberals to take it. Reason I say this is Liberals in our district in general have out passes conservatives in voter turnout at about 59-41% over the last two election cycles. With an overall turnout at less than 22% of registered voters. Its a numbers situation and she is playing the long game i feel.

The fact Letlow was elected in the first place displays the high level of voter retardation. I’m voting for Cleo fields.

If the election boils down to my having to choose between someone who violated the STOCK Act and someone who allowed peer pressure to push him into wrongly Impeaching a President, I'll pick the stock trader.
