What's the deal with baseball/softball gear?

Off today and was out shopping with the wife and daughter(off school today).

Looking through the baseball and softball section, all the boys stuff is miami vice or homo colored everything. Ice cream pants, shorts, etc.

The girls section is just normal arse colors. My daughter was even making fun of the boys at school, saying if a girl were to wear stuff like ice cream drip the boys would make fun of them.

Why is it so homo these days?

Kids imitate stars. Fernando Tatis, Acuna, and others are amongst the most popular players in baseball and they wear colorful accessories. Same with basketball shoes.
