And over the past three years, they’ve lost a quarter-billion. Even for Bezos, thats gotta sting. That’s real money no matter who you are. I see web-only and skeleton staffing in their future.
They hired more people but got less production. Hmmm.
Expect more layoffs.

This week, acting Chief Executive and Publisher Jeff D’Onofrio and Executive Editor Matt Murray hosted their first staff meeting since the layoffs and, according to the Wall Street Journal, said the Post’s financial problems were due to “years of overspending and declining productivity.” “D’Onofrio told the assembled newsroom staff that expenses surpassed revenue between 2022 and 2025 because the company had hired hundreds of staffers in the years prior[.]”
D’Onofrio told the staff that the “number of news stories published by the Post has fallen by 42% since 2020, while newsroom costs were 16% higher in 2025 compared with 2020.”

The main problem with traditional media is that no one, and I mean no one, under the age of 40 gets their news from a traditional news source. It will only get worse as the boomers die off.

The strangle hold on the flow of information by legacy media has been broken by the openness of the Internet. It's taken their advertising too.

They’ve ruined their reputation as a legitimate news source.

People are tired of reading their left wing propaganda.
