If they go back to a Shah rule, it's is just another revolution waiting to happen. They will just be swapping one authoritarian ruler with another.

I really hope that one day people learn that democracy can't be forced on a culture that doesn't want it. I don't particularly care how they select a leader or setup a government. We'll going to regime change it in 10 or 20 years anyway if we don't like it

Regime change isn’t going to work and often makes the problem worse.

They aren’t going to go for a democracy. The people don’t want it. For as many cheering in the streets of Iran you also have as many screaming death to America.

It would be like if China assassinated Trump and then showed their population celebrating the libtards dancing in the street as an endorsement of communism by the American people.

This ain’t Afghanistan or Iraq.
Much more secular.
Much likelier to be as far from Islamic regime as any middle eastern country.

These people are Persian. Fat different from Arabs.

Before the current regime they had a secular government and country.

Then they let some Muslims into their country. And we know what happened.

I suspect there will be tight border control this time...

There is a demographic in this country that is usually pejoratively referred to as the Fox News boomer that thinks people in the ME want to adopt western Christian or Jewish values in Muslims countries. I really don't get it. They don't want to be like us. We don't have the same customs, religion, history or culture. We shouldn't even be concerned with Iran's self determination path.

That was 70 years ago and that regime was still an authoritarian dictatorship that was so brutal it led to the revolution that put the current regime in place.

The US doesn’t. We don’t want a democracy. We want a leader we can control and a democracy makes that more complicated.

I’m not knocking our approach. I’d do the same thing. I’m just setting the record straight.

You're a barely functioning retard.

Nice deflection. Even you realized just how dumb you are in this thread. All it took was one simple question

As I understand it, Iran is already looking into "electing" another Ayatollah replacement. So killing off 48 government officials plus the "head of the snake" will do nothing to change the dynamics of their government. Unless you rid the country of Muslim influence, nothing will change except "names". As for the populace, does anyone really know what these people want or if it is truly "freedom", how to go about creating a government that will provide those freedoms moreso than what the Shah dished out or the last two Ayatollah's. Granted their military apparatus has taken a beating for the time being but for how long? The history of Israel seems to be a continuous battle with Palestinians . . placating them hasn't worked, bombing them hasn't worked . . why would anyone think the current scenario in Iran will change the future there. Perhaps the only recourse is military occupation as in Germany after WWII until the Iranians follow a course that will heal their nation rather than plunge it into continuous chaos generation after generation.

A type of parliamentary monarchy would probably be the absolute best case scenario.

No matter how bad the US wants it, we can't convince every failed nation to adopt our style of elections.

As far as going back to the government that was prior revolution... after the Iranians got a nice big taste of a heavy handed Islamic regime... I don't think they will be pushed back into that very easily. Especially from the women.

I hope we are packing the bags of the former Shah's son here in the US and preparing him to reset the previous government. Fill their heads full of a pre revolutionary Iran photos and stories. Let that guy do the same. Get campaigns going that would encourage the elder Iranians to tell of the old Iran. Get the majority on board. Get them all the early assistance to get it jump started.

And this needs to happen soon. The more time there is a hole in leadership, the more of a chance we have to chase out a few rats.

Freedom for Iran is the rallying call and more power to the citizens is the motivation. just give it a quick nudge.
