My Miniature Dachshund Bit Me

I reached into my dog's cage last night and he nailed me. That critter's life of luxury has come to an end. He is about to learn what it is to be a farm dog.

Out of 4 dachshunds growing up, only one bit me and I deserved it. None of them were caged either.

Did you startle him during the night to cause this? Cant just expect to reach into the cage of a sleeping dog at night thinking he knows it's you.

I have a family member that runs an in-home service company. One of the workers was in a home and the home owners miniature Dachshund lept off the back of a recliner and tore into the workers face. This was their 2nd attack by a miniature Daschund while in a house. My family member put the miniature Daschund on the company's "agressive breeds" list and refuses service unless the dog is outside. They are on the same list as Pit Bulls.
I didnt realize until after that they were bred to hunt badgers and be vicious with a mean bite.

He only goes there to sleep and when he wants to. I lock him in overnight so that he doesn't take a dump in the house. He had just entered and I reached in to remove his stuffed duck. That is when he went into attack mode.
