such a "duh!" ruling, but it was 6-3 with activists liberal justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissenting.

It's unbelievable the SOTU has to make a ruling on what most people would already believe to be the right of parents with their minor aged children.

But don't give them a Tylenol without parental consent.

Schools won't comply which means it will take some big lawsuits payouts to finally push them to comply.

Correct. These wackos will double down. They actually believe they are "morally" right and are obligated to defy the "Neo-Nazis" on the SC.

I can't believe this actually had to go to litigation. The schools and teachers don't own the kids. They have no parental rights. They are not the legal guardians of the kids. Yet somehow they have decided, in their own self righteous circles, they have the right.

Sadly, we have more than a few loony posters who will vehemently disagree with this ruling. Those particular posters can kiss my arse, and if they disagree with this... then their opinions on pretty much everything else are invalid.

Hell yes. This was one of the top cases I had been waiting on a ruling for.

It is insane to me how people would ever support this. It creates a separation between parents and their mentally ill child and they are told by people in authority “don’t tell your parents what we talked about”

LIKE frickING PREDATORS DO!

And there are dipshits with no kids saying “if they don’t feel comfortable telling you about what they’re going through, then you’re not a good parent anyway”.

If California's rule would have been upheld, it would be logical to assume that the school would not be required to notify the parents if the child had an abortion, was on drugs, thought they were a rabbit, expressed suicidal intentions, etc.

Dems have fantasized about packing the SCOTUS for a long time. If they ever seriously begin the process to do so they would have to have POTUS and Senate majority first, then they'd nominate candidate justices, then they'd vote on them. If they get that far, to point of actually seating them, THAT'S when things would get spicy.

The SC ruled schools are not prevented from telling parents their child is transitioning.

Does this mean it is up to the school to decide to tell the parents or not???
