The mail carriers were busy delivering this kindling to every address in the area.
Edit - it’s a Seventh-Day Adventist book about how evil the Catholic Church is along with a prophesy for the end of the world.

quote:
The Great Controversy is a 19th-century text written by Seventh-day Adventist co-founder Ellen G. White, focusing on biblical prophecy, the history of Christianity, and the ultimate conflict between good and evil.
quote:
470-page book was written in 1858 and contains passages like, when the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who honor the law of God, there will be, in different lands, a simultaneous movement for their destruction. Not exactly light summer reading.
quote:
The books are mailed by independent, faith-based groups like Remnant Publications as a, often, unsolicited, large-scale, nationwide effort to share their faith.
They did the same thing in Baltimore last September.
quote:
Ron Goss, a Seventh-day Adventist minister who works with Remnant Publications, says Baltimore isn't the first city to receive the books. Philadelphia has gotten about 720,000 copies, as have San Francisco, Portland and Chicago.
quote:
the books cost about $1.40 to make and send out, something he says is a cheap way to spread the word.
quote:
“Everyone’s like, ‘I’m going to toss this book,’” said Ryan Haas, co-owner of The Club Car. “So we decided to throw a happy hour for anyone who got the book.”

A guy I went to high school with got one in his mailbox a while back and had a full blown 3 or 4 day meltdown on FB over it. It was pretty entertaining.

Only thing I could possibly get on board with Adventist on, is recognizing Saturdays in the fall as the Sabbath.
Other than that they are a bunch of heretic losers and frankly shouldn’t even be considered Christians. They should be mocked and laughed at alongside the Jehovah’s and Romneys of the world.

Not in my small town (in Louisiana that’s 65% Catholic)

Anyone remember the HBO series The Leftovers?
When I hear the word Remnant, I think of that series.

Bham is full of inbreeding bama Baw wife/sister beaters that need Jesus
Lucky for me I’ll likely never get this book in my mailbox me

Total nut jobs I’m sure.
I hope everyone involved with this book and mailing get what they deserve on a highway.
